3 Months Old

Rylie turned 3 months old today. She's growing too fast already. She's been sleeping through the night for a few weeks. One night she slept for 11 1/2 hours straight! She has started to like playing on her playgym, and can scoot herself on her back. Her eyes have gotten lighter, so I think she may wind up with green or blue eyes.

Hunter is a great big brother. He's very protective, and likes to "hold" her. He will also just hold her hand sometimes. I'm going to take her soon to get her pictures taken, hopefully this weekend. Maybe I can talk Seth into coming and we can do a family picture.

Trains......

This last Christmas I started buying Hunter some of the Geotrax line by Fisher Price. I thought it would be a fun toy for him and Seth to play with together. We bought him a couple of things, and he also got some things from others also, so he had a good start on a collection going. Unfortunately, we've only had the stuff out a few times since Christmas. You need a lot of space to lay it out, and up until recently Hunter has not been able to really grasp the concept.

The trains are battery operated and have remote controls, and run around the track all on their own. Hunter always tried to "help", and would usually just try to drive the trains on the floor, which made them sound like he was ruining them. Maybe that's why the recommended age is 3+.

Hunter's friend Jake is moving to Iowa. He was given a huge set of Geotrax for Christmas, from a friend who's son had outgrown his. So Jake's mom has generously offered to give us a bunch, since there is way too much to pack up and move. We brought it all home with us today, and they are going to come over to go through it together and see what of it they want to keep.

So, we thought it would be fun to sort it out and try to set it up and see just how much there is. Seth and I started in while Hunter was taking his nap. We had a good bit of track laid out by the time he woke up. He was pretty excited, and had fun just watching the train on the track, so I think he's started to get the idea.

We still have some work to do on the layout, Hunter tripped over part of it and it came apart in a few places, so we decided to give it a rest for the night. I think we're going to have a fun week ahead of us.

Jake's B-day Party

Hunter's friend from daycare had a little birthday party at a place called Amazing Jakes. You pay to get in, and then you get to eat whatever you want, and there are tons of games and rides for the kids to play. You get a card with so many credits, and then you swipe the card to play. The first thing by the room we were sitting in was a go cart ride. We waited in line, but Hunter ran off and missed our chance to ride at the same time as Jake. Then we found out the go carts cost you about 26 credits, and decided to find something else.

They rode the train, the teacups, and the carousel. Hunter liked the train, not real into the teacups, and really didn't like the carousel.

Then we had cake. Jake's grandma made him a cake like Rocket from Little Einsteins. It was really cool.
