Randomness...but not really.

I have been so busy, I haven't forgotten to blog, I just haven't had a lot of spare time.

Seth was playing Mr. Homemaker today. He got our closet all cleaned out and organized. He also accomplished laundry, getting the bathroom clean, and got the cedar chest moved in. Yep, it's finished, looks great!

Hunter has started playing outside with the neighbor kid who's a few years older than him. Since he's too young to just let go someone always has to be out there. He's having a blast climbing their tree, I'm just waiting until he falls and breaks something. He's getting so big. I think he's growing right now because it seems like he ate lunch 3 times today. Last night we were all hungry (Rylie was asleep, but the rest of us were) at 8:30pm because we ate an early dinner so I ran out to pick up something and Hunter was so tired. It was kind of cute, he had a meltdown because his hamburger fell out of the bun. Talk about crying over spilled milk.

Rylie is just all girl (with just a little bit of tomboy mixed in). She got a Baby Alive for Christmas and she's such a little momma, putting her babies down for naps. I could swear she's trying to force me to potty train her, but I'm trying to put her off for a couple more weeks. Hunter keeps forgetting that she's just a little girl and plays a little too rough. Last weekend they snuck outside to the backyard and he came in a minute later saying Rylie was hurt. I think she tripped on the rock and took a header into one of the flagstone steps. She had a bad road rash under her eye and a knot on her forehead.

As for me, I've probably used my new machine every single day since I got it. Take out the holidays, and I know I have. In total for Christmas I made 5 quilts, and 1 1/2 bags (my machine got a little hungry and decided to snack on one of them). I told Seth's sister she could pick out some different fabric because hers was the one that got eaten. I'm almost finished with the 3 quilts I'm making for a fellow blogger, and then I have birthday presents, baby gifts and other fun things to do. Seth's mom found some Santa bags and I'm embroidering names on those for her to have next Christmas.

I was able to salvage the bag that got messed up and I finished it for myself. I needed a new purse anyway and it's just right. It's got pockets on the inside and I was trying out how to do applique so I monogrammed it.

I also gave this to a guy at work for his new baby....

His wife loved it.

I also decided to start a new blog with my listings for my Etsy store. That way I don't have to bore you all with my stuff that I'm listing on there. (Oh wait, I just bored you all with all the crap I've made lately) so anyway, you can get to it by clicking the picture in the sidebar.....or just click here.

Feeling left out....

Today was an extremely day in our house. Since Seth's mom was coming to babysit on Saturday morning and our house was a cross between a movie theater (floors that sticky) and a trash heap, I stayed up until 11:30 Friday night to get it cleaned up. I started around 6:00 ish. No use cleaning too much before Rylie goes to bed. I at least got the vaccuuming done, put her to bed, and then really got started cleaning . I think it had been over two weeks since we Seth had mopped the floors (you know it's got to be bad if I resort to mopping).

So anyway I have been really lazy today, all my dishes are done, I barely cooked, and we just vegged out pretty much the whole day. I have been trying to get a handle on this blog addiction I have. I guess in a way it's really a computer in general addiction. SO I have tried to limit my computer time.

I did check in on Twitter some today. And it seemed that everyone is twittering about this follower thing on blogger. Here's where I am feeling left out. It's not available for me yet. It seems like it's on almost every blog I read except mine. Is this a conspiracy by blogger to drive me even more crazy? I started wondering how they decided to introduce this thing. On my page it says it's not available to everyone cause it's just experimental. So how did they decide who get's it? Maybe they go by how many readers you have? So now I think I don't have enough readers. Which leads me to "I'm not cool enough", which leads me to being sad that I'm not cool enough. Which then makes me think that maybe it's all because I haven't blogged much this past week. And because of trying to stay away, I forgot Top 5 Tuesday, and so now I probably lost my last 12 readers cause they think I abandoned them.

So now you know...I'm paranoid...with an imagination.

The weekend...

I spent this weekend being as unproductive as possible. Of course we worked on Saturday, so that night was just pretty much a normal work night. Sunday we decided to get out and do something. It was actually nice out, and not too hot, although it was really humid. We decided to go play some miniature golf.

We took both kids with us, I think that was our first mistake. I don't think Hunter gets it yet. He's great with a driver, he can smack the crap out of a golf ball. Our second mistake was not having enough foresight to bring an extra ball or two. Rylie insisted on holding a ball at all times. Hunter would hit his ball, then walk over and either immediately hit it again, or he would pick it up. He would also pick up any other ball that was there.

On about the 4th hole we had a guy and his son behind us and it was obvious that they would wind up waiting on us way too long, so we let them play through. We were on a hole where you had to put up a ramp, into a door that was sliding up and down, and the ball would come out on the side. The guy's son got his ball out there, but the dad's ball never came out.

I gave him one of our balls, since we obviously weren't playing by the rules anyway, and that way he wouldn't have to go back to ask for another ball. I think it all would have been fine, since the next hole Seth decided he would sit it out. Hunter refused to use his own putter that we had brought for him, so that meant one of us (me) was using it. Rylie was wandering, so Seth figured it would be ok to just let me and Hunter play, and he would watch Rylie. That worked for one hole.

The next hole was a lighthouse. You had to putt it over a bridge into the one open door of the lighthouse, if it fell off the side of the bridge it would go through a different hole. Hunter of course had to just go up and put his ball (by carrying it right up there) through the door. It never came out where it was supposed to. I decided to drop my ball in to see if it would just push his ball through, and that was it. We lost 3 balls in 6 holes....of miniature golf!!!!

We decided it was a sign, so I went to see if we could get our money back or a voucher for next time. Seth took the kids inside while I was doing that, and Rylie had gotten ahold of my camera. I got inside, met up with them and we left to go to the mall.

At the mall there were about 8 million people. We went through one store, then on to the food court, spent way too much on lunch that barely got eaten. Then hit the bathrooms, and left to go home. As soon as we got home and unloaded, I went to get my camera so I could upload the pictures. No camera! It got left at the mini-golf place. I was pissed. It was partially my fault, and mostly just an accident. I got on the phone and called to see if I could find out if anyone turned it in. No answer. I left a message and called 4 more times to see if there was a way around the answering service, with no luck. So I had a quandry, forget about my handy little $200 digital camera, and hope hubby will let me buy a new one in the next month, or drive the 12 miles back over there on the really off chance that someone out there is as honest as I am.

I drove back. There were a million people there, the parking lot was completely full, overflowing really. The park is a 2 part park, one is mini-golf and games, and the other part is a water park. I guess the water park had a radio station there, so that explains part of why it was so busy.

I drove past the usual parking lot, and lo and behold there was a space open right next to the door! I went in, and to my amazement, someone had found my camera and turned it in!!!! So it wasn't a wasted trip, and I have these pictures to share.

Today was spent being exceptionally lazy. So lazy I barely caught up on my reader. I barely commented. I barely found time or energy to post this. I'm going to apologize in advance to all of my bloggy friends out there because I know that in this next few weeks I'm going to be really busy, so I will only be trying to keep up my own blog, and if I don't get around to comment on your posts, know that I am reading, but I just have to limit my time on the computer to be able to accomplish everything I've got to do. I hope you'll understand (I'm pretty sure you do).

And now I'm going to go to bed and hopefully I'll be asleep within minutes.

Little bits of randomness

Do you ever have those times when you write something, and even though you spelled it right, it looks wrong? Or when you say a word and it sounds weird?

There are some words I don't like to say out loud. And by asssociation, I try not to even use them when I write. Some are the typical, you say tomato...you know the rest.
I'm not sure why I have this word aversion. Maybe it's from growing up in the midwest, where we say pop, not soda.

Other words are just uncomfortable for me to say. Some names too. I'm not really a nickname person, unless that's how we're introduced.

I can't stand the word panties. Don't know why, I just prefer underwear.

I'm sure there is a ton more, but it could get old real fast, and I seem to have forgotten most of them at the moment.

On to a more interesting topic...web search. I have seen people do this and I thought it might be fun and interesting. Here are the top 10 search results that have gotten people to my website.
  1. Purple Ribbon Month
  2. Tax Trivia
  3. Az Pipers blogspot
  4. supernanny
  5. supernanny where are you blog
  6. supernanny updates
  7. stupid trivia
  8. supernanny game
  9. 2008 amazing dog rescue
  10. 100 random questions

Those are the top 10, here are some of the really strange ones

62 year old in a bathing suit (really, who wants to see that???)

administering an enema to a child that is sick (eww, I'm sorry)

anthony james water accident in arizona-never heard of it

it seems a lot of people want to know if they would get paid to be on the supernanny show- they won't find out here

dog eats corn dog stick (Owwwww, I bet that was an experience)

missed trash day smell (I guess our neighbors were trying to figure out if they could get us fined for our nasty smelling trash)

nursemaid elbow t shirt - a band maybe????

supernanny pee outside pictures - um, gross!

even more people out there wanting to find out how to cheat at some supernanny game- come on people stop cheating and just do it honestly!

there's also "what to do while travelling"- I wouldn't know, I visit family, but you will find out what NOT to do.

and yes, someone actually found my site by searching for a penis razor, nice.

I think they only actually list the ones that are searched for in the Google search engine, because I also have that little feedjit thing that shows where people are from and how they got here (keywords also) and I remember seeing that someone searched for how to use a penis razor one time. Yes, I was a little grossed out.

Moving on, I was thinking about the new fall season of tv, and also something made me remember this video that a friend shared with me, about the time he also got me hooked to 24.

Even if you're not a 24 fan, you will still get it, and you will still laugh...

I also need to apologize to my favorite blogger from overseas, Carol asked me some questions for my 100th post and I somehow missed them.

Here's what she wanted to know:

What is your favorite post you've written? I think it is (currently) going to be the one about our smelly trash.

When you're going to have more kids? Jury is still out on if or when.

#1 celebrity heartthrob as a kid? I don't remember, but how about I just say Mark Walburg, cause he's still really hot.

Such is life...

We were running late trying to make it to swimming lessons tonight. I almost grabbed my purse, but since I was going maybe 3 miles I thought, naw, I won't need it. As I'm getting in the car (Hunter is all strapped in) I noticed the gas light was on. I thought for about 2 seconds about getting my purse, but then thought, naw, it's only 6 miles round trip. All the way there I thought about what we would do if we ran out of gas.
I didn't bring my cell phone either, because who needs that in the pool? No calling for help. That leaves walking, I could live with that I guess. If I had to walk home with Hunter, I could take the other car to get gas in the gas can, go back and fill up the car, then bring the car seats home for the kids and have Seth take me back to get the car. Or, hey, even better (and probably frowned upon by the boss) leave the Audi, drive the SUV home, and pick up Seth and the kids, and take him to get the Audi (OK, I'll admit, I just thought of that one).
I worried about it all the way there...

As we were checking in for the class a lady walked up behind us. Very chatty type. I checked us in, and it turned out this lady and her son were in the same class (this was day 4, and their 1st time there, she had to work late the other days.) I thought I could at least be nice and show her where our class was. She proceeded to sit down to wait next to us and kept talking. Very chatty this woman, really, I don't think I've actually ran into anyone out here that just talks to perfect strangers like she did.
We had about 3 minutes till class started, here's what I learned.
  1. She's divorced.
  2. The ex is a prick (not exactly her words).
  3. He's 35.
  4. He's been married 3 times.
  5. He has a pool.
  6. And a brand new baby.
  7. He only knew his "new" wife for 6 weeks before they got married.
  8. Her son has almost drown 3 or 4 times just this summer (I'm wondering how true this is)
  9. The ex doesn't seem to care about taking the son to swimming lessons.
  10. The ex is a certified diver "so he should care"
  11. "and that's why people get divorced"

Do you think she was a little bitter?

It certainly took my mind off of my gas light.

After class I saw my friend from work who's daughter's class starts after ours is over. I was so happy to see her. She saved me. I didn't even have to ask. She's that kind of friend. All I had to say was "I left my purse, and my gas light is on". She followed me to the gas station on the corner and gave me some money for gas. I am so blessed to have a friend like that. I know if it was me I would have done the same.

I didn't have to walk home. And more importantly, I didn't have to leave the Audi sitting by the side of the road, because that would have been a tragedy!

Random thought #1

Yeah, I sometimes get these random thoughts. They don't all make sense, but sometimes they have the potential for greatness.

I was taking Rylie to change her diaper when this thought occured to me. I guess it was because in the last couple of months she has gotten to the stage where it's almost impossible (unless she's mostly asleep) to have her lay still when I'm changing her. So I'm thinking to myself, "I wonder if you could hypnotize a baby to be potty trained?"

Yeah, I know, people say it's possible to potty train an infant, but who are they kidding, they've just trained themselves to read their baby's cues that he/she has to go. But really, think about it. They can hypnotize people to stop smoking, stop drinking, and stop eating too much right? And those people are all people with habits so bad that they resort to letting someone invade their unconsiousness in order to get the help they need.

Aside from the obvious morality issues of hypnotizing someone who coudn't consent, wouldn't it be great if it could be done. Even if it was just to tell you (with sign language of course) that they needed to go. How great would that be?

Disclaimer: I'm not suggesting that anyone do this, and I would never do something like this to my own child, it's just sort of an Ally McBeal moment (not that I ever watched that show, I don't even know if it would qualify as that.)
