Ugh, really....

It's now 11 pm. I got home an hour ago.
At 1:30 Hunter was running around here acting fine.
I cancelled his 3:15 appt at the Dr.
He falls asleep at 3:30.
He wakes up at 4:30 crying hysterically.
Nothing helps him.
I take him to urgent care, we got there at 5:00.
They get urine, blood, a throat swab....and with the throat swab he gags and pukes all over me and him. Nice.
Tests all come back normal, but Dr. refers us to ER for ultrasound to rule out appendicitis.
We go there right away, get there at 6:00. MIL and SIL meet us there, I'm so grateful for that. ER waiting room alone would have really sucked!
Hunter sleeps, the whole time.
We finally get called back at 9:00.
He sleeps on the bed, in a gown.
Dr comes in at 9:30, says he's fine and we can go home.
Hunter wakes up while putting his clothes on, says his tummy doesn't hurt anymore, he wants to go home to sleep.
I pray that I get to sleep all night, I need it.

  1. WOW! How scary! Poor little guy though! I wonder what was wrong? I'm glad that it wasn't anything serious!

  2. So sorry Dana! I've done the ER thing, and it is definitely no fun! I'm glad that you at least had some company and that nothing was seriously wrong with Hunter. The only thing worse than a trip to the ER (and getting puked on), is a trip to the ER that ends in a stay in the hospital.
I hope that both you and Hunter managed to get some sleep! Hugs to you both.

This is my first time here, and I love your blog! I'll be back!

  5. Poor Hunter and poor you. Glad to hear that they didn't find anything wrong and he's feeling better. Maybe the throat swab/puking cleared his little tummy of whatever was bothering him. Sorry it ended up on you, too. Isn't it always us Mommies who get it? Mine is usually right down my shirt into my bra. Good times. I guess we don't have McMommy's special talent! Get some rest today!

That is a trauma you could have done without. Hope you got good sleep after all.

  7. I know all mothers have been there, but I especially feel you pain after what I went through with Henry.

Glad all is getting back to normal, whatever you want to call it :)
